Interesting.

In the book The Wisdom of Crowds, the authors writes on the phenomenon of the underdog. While publically supporting the underdog, most people tend to vote for (choose) the favorite at the time of decision. He suggests it has to do w/ the survival instinct over riding the risk of change.

Guess w/ the favorite one at least knows what he/she might again get.
