OT Hi Willcousa,

Your advice to avoid that company that stole IP but had the great sales channel was probably good advice. I was really, really worried about a sales channel when I wrote that post because going direct doesn't give leverage (and of course comm sales channels are blowing up this year courtesy of last year's overzealous venture capital.)

As it turns out, our ceo talked to one of the larger traditional resellers in our business that seems interested in our product. I think we may have found a safe harbor through them. I can relax.

I'm finally going to take a vacation.

One more story about IP. A few months ago, I had posted I was going to give a presentation to a VC (corporate VC that had a really good sales channel we could have borrowed). After this presentation, the VC invited us to install our product into their hdqs. I shied away from it - the timing didn't feel right. Good thing I did. As it turns out, I heard from another entrepreneur that this very same VC asked for and got their technology and then afterwards told them they had competing technology. (How can a VC even ask for your technology if they know it's competitive to their corporation's technology?)

Regards,
Amy J
