thanks for your summary of the case. it shows better insight than most anything i have read. i agree with a lot of what you say & admit that you know far more about the particulars than i will ever know. a couple things bug me though...i still think msft is being punished because people don't understand the technology...i gave analogies in earlier post. any company is free to develop an operating system that competes with windows. (i understand msft has a big head start.) any company is free to develop a browser.

if before trial netscape developed an operating system that it put out on navigator the doj would never have cried foul.

bottom line i guess is that market leaders like msft (not monopolists as you refer to them) are treated differently...as you pointed out in your post.
