And who's talking about "ONE" justification for the war? I was simply responding to your smug assertion that:

Having US troops on the Iran-Iraq border and the Afghanistan-Iran border seems smarter and smarter, the more we learn about Al Qaida in Iran.

If you'd have thought for a moment you'd have realized that "having US troops on the Iran-Iraq border" only puts them in harm's way for little, if any, positive effect in fighting Al Queda."

So don't come back with more red herrings like "there's never ONE reason for a war," when no one had said that there was. You made the border guarding justification, either back it up or leave it. Changing the subject with such obvious ruses does nothing to save face. There's no shame in being wrong and admitting it. This is especially true when we have men and women dying every day for goals we ought to be able to articulate and find convincing.
