thanks for the many postings. It seems to me that the reporters in question have NO IDEA when and how RDRAM will come. For example here are 2 quotes i selected

" But the demand for Rambus DRAM won't be big until Intel's [Pentium III] microprocessor market becomes mature. We probably will have to wait until the year 2001."

"But in the second half (99), demand for new systems may slump unless compelling new technology is introduced. Enter Rambus, tripping, stumbling, reeling, perhaps, but coming nonetheless. If enough of the Rambus-enabled systems are on the market by midyear, it could spark a revival for a PC industry desperate for something new to offer its customers."

Pick which point of view suits you best!!
However, earnings are not going to commence to really flow until calender year 2000 Q1
From Q3 onwards we will achieve YHOO like P/E's, but that goes with all the volatility too.
