Asteroid 2004 FH

A newly-discovered asteroid named “2004 FH” is going to fly by our planet today (Mar. 18th, 2200 GMT) only 43,000 km
from Earth's surface. There's no danger of a collision, but it is close. For comparison, geosynchronouss satellites orbit Earth
at an altitude of 35,800 km, only six or seven thousand km below the asteroid. 2004 FH's point of closest approach with the
Earth will be over the South Atlantic Ocean.

2004 FH measures ~30 meters across, or about the size of a house. Although it's small, 2004 FH will be visible through
backyard telescopes, glowing like a 10th to 12th magnitude star as it passes by Earth. Use one of these ephemerides to find it:
from JPL or from the Minor Planet Center.
