Abotlitionism wasn't radical and it led to actual abolition of slavery.

the whole issue of slavery led to the bloodiest fuckin' war in all of American history, more so than even WWII.

Yes, more Americans died in the Civil War than all our other wars combined. You can say it was because Americans were on both sides or you can talk about the tactics and weaponry, but it WAS God's judgment on America. I say that as one who had multiple ancestors who died in that war.
