writer avoids the question of the women who take drugs to get pregnant. Usually they cause multiple babies. In order to have a safe birth woman will select to abort most. (selective reduction (abortion) of some of the babies so that the others have a better chance to survive in a healthy state) thus we far selected abortion where woman have difficulty getting pregnant, due to enhancing drugs or laboratory assistance to have a baby. Perhaps these procedures do not fall into Roe vs Wade 1973 decision as they were not perfected in those days. I believe the procedure is usually done at a minimum several weeks after pregnancy in order to determine the fetus health, sex.
