MSB, the situation with your wife and the scratch on her car sounds very scary. If you guys buy a gun, though, please be careful with it and learn how to use it properly, okay? Unfortunately, however, is someone is stalking her, he has the element of surprise for the most part, and will always be able to find times and places that she is vulnerable if he knows her well or follows her around enough. Have you thought of talking to the police about this situation? It might be a good first step. If there is a pattern of harassment you can get a restraining order, although I don't think they offer very much protection.
