I don't think 'downsizing' really ever ends. Years ago, when my wife passed away, I got rid of a lot of furniture, wall hangings, lots of clothes, etc. but stayed in the same home. About 5 years ago, I went through it again, but far more seriously this time as it involved a move from Colorado to Arizona. I also sold the 3 story home, and gave away (too lazy to try a sale) well over half the furniture. I bot a 1200 square foot condo, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and still far more space than I should have.

Now, nearly 5 years later, I find myself considering a move to one of the numerous independent living apartments for retirees. That will mean a very serious unloading of much of the remaining stuff. I want to make this move while I can still make all the decisions rather than being shoved into something I will hate.

This will be my next to last move.... if you get what I mean.. heh, heh. Hopefully, still a couple years from the move to independent, but I'm definitely aware of the need to plan ahead. All I'm going to need this time is a place to eat, sleep and continue painting watercolors.
