AVRT just got bought out for $22 cash per share. Unfortunately I only had a small portion of my portfolio in this stock. I sold my shares at $21.52 since I don't care to wait a few months for a small 2.3% gain. Three week hold, 35% gain.

My oil stocks are getting bashed today so I'm still only a little better off than I was last month.

I also am adding Micron(MU) to my short list today at $39.62, because this quarters earnings may be much lower than expected. DRAM supply is extremely high while demand is low and going down. This includes next-generation chips, which are plummeting to new lows. Last Friday 64mb chips went for under $2. Producers keep building inventory with the hope that demand will come back, which makes the situation worse. The company could lose as much as 45 cents using a worst-case scenario. At best they will take a small loss. Looking ahead, there is tough competition for a smaller market share in DRAM. In a desperate attempt to make more room for Microns 1.5 billion inventory, employees have to warehouse chips in their car trunks while they are at work. I just made that last part up.

Demand for semiconductors in general has crashed. I had a semiconductor pick(MKSI) but dumped it because the outlook is horrendous for the next year. I was planning to pick it up again once earnings estimates settled, but they just don't stop going down.
