Laz, USW customers are among the most cynical concerning their telephone incumbent provider's (USW's) service that I've ever come across. If that tells you anything. Even those who are in the selected DSL cities complain about service. Salt Lake City is one spot where T will attract a lot of converts, I'm rather certain, once they get their improved last mile fiber segmentation straightened out.

In fairness, USW's is also among the unfriendliest to administer due to low pop densities and diverse, and often hostile, terrains.

But that still doesn't go to the argument of increased stickiness, either. Quite to the contrary. Customers are not interested in why they perceive service to suck, all they know is that they perceive it so.
