Larry, another possibility is that having made good money on the short side they may simply cover in the market, convert the lot and then go long with the maximum number of shares converted at the best possible price. In other words they can make a covered "no risk" short and if they see the tide is turning they can be the first to reverse their position. They are in the box seat and are also likely to be privy to more of all the "inside" news from VLNC than the rest of us.
