Just finished reading the book "The Triple Package" which this This is a book review of. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. This book provides the clue to why African Americans who were brought as slaves remain poor whereas immigrants from Africa are doing better than the African American. According to the book, Obama's ancestors were immigrants and not slaves .

Slavery destroyed the pride of the slaves. And once the pride is destroyed and they are forced into economic ruin, it is not easy to restore that pride. And in this climate of hate red and scorn displayed by Tea party, it adds fuel to the fire.
