The issues that have been making sales so difficult for AMD (PIII's much lower power consumption) are now even with P4 power consumption being similar to Athlon. I had dinner tonight with a friend who just ordered a Mac with an 867MHZ processor. A few months ago, Apple had to withdraw their PCs with 500MHZ processors (on .18 copper) because Motorola couldn't get them to run that fast. Now, with .18 copper on SOI, they are shipping 867MHZ. AMD is shipping .18 copper at 1.4GHZ, what will they ship at .13 on SOI?
