Hi Jay,
I think CDMA will have its place as a meaningful player. In any case, wether it is TDMA, CDMA, or what ever digital system, they will all need high end equipment to analyze the compression, timing, signal conditioning, and RF performance of cell phones. This future is guaranteed. Hopefully, TEK will continue to grow its market share in the future.
It would be nice if the broadcasters started up this Fall with HDTV. I heard some sports events were going to be HDTV. Likely, there will be a slow build up of capital expenditures for digital systems, until some critical mass, and then things will grow rapidly. It is always hard to say when. But it is nice to have the government, and technology pushing the process.
Thanks for the HDTV article, it points in a good direction.
I like TEK's fiber network capability, and seems to be well regarded.
BTW, I'm looking to get into TEK at around 27. The technicals seem weak, so I'm holding out. Maybe everyone is worried about Asian effects. I think TEK is very undervalued at these levels. The P/E of 18 seems to be based on restructuring, and one-time charges.
