Globalstar is going to provide sattelite bassed wireless telecommunications using low-earth orbiting sattellites and CDMA digital technology. The System is supposed to go functional in the first quater of '99. The main technology contributors are QCOM or Loral, with a myraid of different companys that form the GlobalStar Limited Partners (GLP). Some would say that Globalstar is in competition with Motorolla's Irridium project, but I think they address slightly different market segments. The main risk issues for Globalstar in the comming year is the statellite launches. The stock is already up a lot and may go up a lot more as the risk issues are resolved. -Raj
