since S"""" brought it to his brother's newsletter in 1995,
r. edwards, Your apparent mention of me is one of the more bizarre remarks I have read in SI. It contains a lie, and suggests some improper action on my part.
1. I did not bring it to my brother's newsletter in 1995. I heard of the stock from the newsletter, after 1995.
2. I did not even join SI until 1997, so could have had no impact on any 1995 decision you may have made.
3. I did not tout the stock. In fact, many of my posts have been suspecting, for instance recently in discussion of the dilution effect of the private placements.
4. My brother's newsletter dropped the stock at least a year ago, finally giving up on the company's "it's coming" promises, feeling the same frustration you express in your post. The newsletter's dropping of the stock has been reported on this board.
5. I have only had a long position in this stock, and continue to have one. However, my position is very small, and not material to my net worth. It will only have a material effect if it is in truth a winner that generates solid cash flow in the long term. I have no incentive to tout the stock.
For your information, I have been interested in this stock for two principal reasons: 1. My Far East background, and 2. Zi's status as a "concept" micro-cap, as a learning opportunity for me. I do not otherwise invest in concepts in companies with so little capital. If I look at a small or micro cap stock, it is as a value play. I look at "concepts" only among well-capitalized companies with existing positive cash flow.
r.edwards, Perhaps your statement was made in jest, but it did not read that way to me. Your statement that I "brought" this stock to the newsletter is absolutely without foundation. It suggests an improper action on my part, that I somehow tried to run up the price through publicity. That is absolutely not true. I resent the suggestion, and would ask that you withdraw it.
Sincerely, John Stichnoth |
