Paul,
AMDs official statement was that 4 of the 10 top OEMs were
interested in K6, but probably would not use it when announced,
but a possibility later on in the year. A pretty weak
statement imho. The longer it takes for K6 to make inroads,
the tougher it will be for them, PERIOD! By early May (if not
sooner), expect the Intel Pentium II product-line to be in
full swing, and this will continue throughout the year. It will
be tougher to land a major OEM from that point on. As Michael
Dell puts it, "...we wont even look at an alternative processor...
its just not worth it.." By the way, i also have friends at Intel,
and they tell me to keep buying :)
