Folks, GTW & CPU is not a match to me. I just got wacked on this one too. If were going to wish for a buyout the only perfect match is with Dell. Overlap exists with the GTW stores and, as somebody mentioned, the store model is different...real different. CPQ is out and so is IBM of course. Dell is the only perfect match because they are completely direct now...no interference with other retail merchants by buying CPU and it would allow them to stay direct with the CPU stores...just stock dells on the shelf...it's still direct...no middle man. The fact that Dell wants to sell other items -via- it's gigabuy.com web site means that they could at least be interested in a CPU with all the inventoried items. DELL never liked the channel distributors (IM,TECD,MICA,etc) that's why they went direct...buying CPU still allows them to ignore the channel players and be direct to the bus & consumer buyers.

Think about...even if you buy a dell online...you can return it to any CPU/AKA DellUSA store for service or return.

DELL is the only perfect match here...period (IMHO).

Rich (I got wacked real good here...loaded up at about 11,& 13 and was sitting on a boatload of May 12 1/2 calls.)
