these pull backs usually seem to be orchestrated. We get lots of reports of production problems or similar than the technical folks chime in and, wham, we get a 10% correction.

I completely agree. Case in point: the WSJ interview of a TA saying AAPL was headed even further down. Very disappointed in WSJ for stooping so low. As for Mapapplegate, I've already stated my position.
