I doubt the Market would react positively to an upside earnings surprise. What's at stake here is the future of the Industry and earnings growth going forward. Moreover, MO is always on target or a few pennies above. There will be a lot of charges for litigation and restructuring ( 195 Million this Quarter and the Next: but they will save a few hundred million per year starting in 99, due to 10% reduction in domestic tobacco work force. Expect a lot more of this in the future: A leaner and meaner MO!).
