Why don't you let your kids manage YOUR portfolio? While I agree the government is NOT the best "manager" of these funds, I believe there could be a better system. I don't have any kids, but many kids could get a better return then the return I will get from social security (assumeing I get any). In any case this will be adults making there own decisions not kids, and it will be only a small part of the SS taxes. Personally I think social security is a ponzi scheme that never should have been enacted but that's another debate. Tim
