Take away home interest deduction and 90% of the country will only have to use the EZ form. You know the one where line one ask's what you make and line 2 says mail it to the IRS. It would also remove a big reason to own a home versus rent. You can rent a 1500 sq ft house with fireplace and everything else for under 900 around here and not have any maintenance to contend with.
