Gee, Dwight, I believe you have gone so far to say that I must really be a homosexual, and could not have a husband and a nice, moral teenage daughter. I am surprised you have not accused me of being Satan yet, quite frankly!!
I understand where you are coming from, because you believe that the world without your brand of conservative Christianity would be utter chaos, with sinners running around everywhere fornicating and even sodomizing each other (and each other's children). You have no belief whatsoever in the innate goodness of man, or that non-Christians can be ethical and moral people, or that anyone would do something decent because it feels right, not because they are trying to get brownie points to go to heaven, or live in fear of hell.
That is why I just considered the source, and went on, uninsulted. But it really is too bad that you believe the structure which religion provides is the key to healthy life. It may be for some people, who do not have strong internal guides showing them right from wrong. But religion also has some negatives attached to it on occasion, like hatred and bigotry and fear, so I wish you could understand that everyone does not need the same structure that you do. I do not like to be repressed, for example, and yet lead an entirely decent life. But I am SURE you do not believe that. |
