Tenchu's Thoughts: No, Xi Doesn't Give A Brandon Who Wins in 2024
Yes, America is a democracy in decline.
No, Brandon did NOT "revitalize" the American-led global alliance network.
You know who did? The duo known as WinnXi the PooTin.
And the so-called "free world" is starting to plan for a future where America is no longer the overly dominant player.
This is why I laugh at The Atlantic that publishes puff-pieces like this one:
Why Xi Wants Trump To Win (The Atlantic)
Cause I guarantee you that WinnXi is not quaking in his boots at the sight of the geriatric Brandon.
Or the air-headed cackling dimwit, Brenda.
Instead, China is preparing for a future whether they won't have to rely on the Western world for anything. Not even semiconductors.
And although China is suffering from a problem in demographics, every Asian nation is suffering the same problem.
And although China is trying to rebound from its real estate fiasco, and trying to recover form its failed Belt and Road initiative, there is no sign that the autocratic Chinese society is on the brink of collapse.
Even Chinese citizens are now caught up in a nationalistic fervor.
Even American citizens like Eileen Gu feel free to join the Chinese National Olympic team and win medals for them.
I know plenty of Chinese people in Silicon Valley who aren't as enthusiastic about staying here and giving their children an American education, even though I believe their children would be much better off with one vs. some Chinese university.
"Land of the free, Home of the brave" just doesn't have as much of an attraction to them anymore. They kind of like the stability of their native China, despite the lack of freedom there.
Of course, if China decides to invade Taiwan, things may change, but there's a good chance that even said invasion will turn into a PooTin-like sPeCiAl mIlItArY oPeRaTiOn that most Chinese citizens won't even feel.
So no, nothing that China does right now depends that much on who wins in 2024, because to Xi, it's all the same. (I believe this is different than what PooTin wants, but that's another topic.)
