I would need more details to really arrive at an informed conclusion but if the person really had nothing to do with terrorism in any way then I would agree with you. Shutting down business for more then a very short time because of vague suspicions, is wrong and destructive.

Tim, the reason for the suspicion was that he was an American of Middle Eastern descent. His operation catered to Middle Eastern peoples, and part of the operation was devoted to wiring money back and forth to and from relatives etc still living in a Middle Eastern country.

Back then, we had reason to believe that some of that money was finding its way back to bin Laden. For that reason, he certainly should have been watched and I could see even closing him down for a short period of time and scrutinizing his books but to keep him closed for over a month when he was more than willing to provide the documentation that the FBI wanted within a few days of the closure seems unreasonable. Running a small business is tough.....every day down is a hardship. I think we could have handled it better; after all this is the same FBI who missed 9/11.

That was my objection to which Harry was calling attention and which now purportedly makes me a friend to all Middle Eastern peoples, good or bad. In an effort to rebuke that claim, I intend to go out and harass a Middle Eastern person some time this week even if they seem good and law abiding. ;~))
