Have you all noticed that Meirs is totally being tried by opinion, and not much fact at all? We should give her time to speak for herself and then judge her statements and background. The press and the Conservatives, including Ann Coulter, are like the Democrats on some issues....Stamping their feet and demanding that their voices be heard, swamping the person who has been nominated.

I'm miffed that the President has to rely on her "religion" to convince us as to why she would be a good candidate. Is that so important to the "Religious Left and Right" ....(assuming that there are religious folks on the left as well as the right...something that the media doesn't seem to want to acknowledge)

Surely there is another way of saying one has done their best to live a moral and straightforward life....Or is there? If so, what else can be said?

Just for the record, I am wondering too, why she was the one nominated. I think Janice Rogers Brown would make a good SC Justice. I'm sure there are some others who would be equally appropriate as well.
