I said ATMs, not servers.

The ATMs are all built around PC architecture. The back-end could theoretically be anything from a simple NT box all the way up through a mainframe. They type of messaging used by ATMs makes the type of hardware used for the server completely irrelevant.

Citi mostly uses Unix servers, but are moving some functions to NT servers. Some of the information is accessed directly on the mainframes. Really, there isn't one single server for the ATM system. The ATM goes after different servers depending on what function its trying to perform and what information it needs.
