I'm really enjoying the series, Rome, too. I was prepped for it by reading an autobiography of Cicero a couple of years ago. The series tracks the poitical infighting pretty well. Better question: why is such a good show doing so badly? No public interest in sword and sandal shows? Gladiator did great; everything similar has tanked since then. Do the younger people even know about the Roman Empire today?
