It's urged that you go to the best school you can get into. If you just want to practice law and don't have grand ambitions, I think that's probably bad advice. There's good sense I think in going to a lower ranked school where you can excel, especially if it's a good regional school in the area you want to practice. That's why I went to Utah.

The corporate law path is sticky, because most companies hire experienced attorneys with 5 years of practice. Back to square one - those sweat shop firms.

If you want to get a job as a law professor or a federal judge, you better go to a top school.
