Infinium Study Analyzes Market Demand for ASP Offerings; Customer Interest in ASP Real, Rising

HYANNIS, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 24, 2000--Infinium (NASDAQ:INFM), a provider of enterprise business solutions and services, today confirmed that customer interest in the ASP model is real, and on the rise, according to a study conducted by Infinium.

Infinium received more than 1,000 Web, fax and mail responses from organizations of various markets and size in North America. Completed Infinium surveys analyzed the market demand for hosted enterprise business solutions and confirmed that:

--Half of all survey respondents within organizations of various markets and size expressed an interest in accessing enterprise business solutions over the Internet via an ASP, contradicting the belief that most ASP marketplace interest is vendor generated hype.

--The ASP model is appealing to organizations of all markets and size, although there has been much debate about the viability of the ASP approach within larger enterprises. In fact, more than half of all of the organizations surveyed with 1,000 or more employees expressed an interest in the ASP model.

--Front-office offerings like customer relationship management (CRM), business intelligence and e-commerce solutions ranked very high on the list of solutions that organizations were looking to out-source. Back-office offerings like financial management and human resource solutions were also ranked within the top five solutions companies were most interested in outsourcing.

"This study contributes to Infinium's position that a strong market demand exists for accessing applications over the Internet via an ASP," said Rick Bernard, CIO of Infinium. "With today's IT shortage and the need for organizations to refocus their efforts on strategic initiatives, many enterprises are driven to consider alternatives to traditional solution installation models. The ASP model frees organizations to focus on their core competencies leaving the installations, upgrades, customizations, support and maintenance of mission-critical applications up to a trusted vendor like Infinium. It's no wonder organizations are looking at the ASP model, the benefits are indisputable."
