Iran hit by a major earthquake -- or a nuke?!

Not so fast. Unlike with the Dec 2004 tsunami in the Indian Ocean, we don't have to fast-backward to 1883 to find another major quake in Iran! Iran, like Turkey, is a seismically active region whereas the tsunami was a freak catastrophe... Not to mention the fact that it would be impossible for the US to generate underground the energy released by a M6+ quake. Remember that a tidal wave (tsunami) can be generated by a much less energetic/powerful event than an earthquake (such as a couple of underwater nukes).
