<< I challenge anyone here to produce a search on this engine which can find a link
to Barnes and Noble or Borders: aol.com

What your search will yield, is a message thread entitled "Re: Barnes & Noble -
A Thing of the Past". This does not seem coincidental. You will also be
bombarded with ads for Amazon.com.

The largest percentage of internet users use AOL as their ISP. >>

Although Amazon has a deal with AOL for their web site, Barnes and Noble has a deal with AOL for the main area, which is where most AOL'ers are. Barnes and Noble has often been featured on my welcome screen, for instance.
They can also be found at keyword "books" or "Barnes and Noble".
They also sponsor chats with authors and have a deal with the writers club and with Oprah's Book Club ( Both are popular areas on AOL ) So .... I think Barnes and Noble got the better deal....not Amazon.
