I've studied the differences between "conservatives" and "liberals" for the past few years to a fair level of scientific objectivity and my conclusion is that conservatism is a form of defect. Totally disagree. I would agree somewhat if the word "conservatism" was replaced with "any extremist/illogical political ideology". Again, I wouldn't say it is a defect either. The word "ignorance" would be better instead of "defect" because these folks just need some education or reasoning to turn them around.
