but you have to wonder why she would bother to go thru all this hassle

From day one, I'd submit, she knew exactly what she wanted.
Remember her slip when she said the merger was a result of
several years' careful planning? This was at odds with her
earlier claim that it grew out of a phone call from Mike
Capellas 2001 spring which was less than a year old. Ah,
Freud!

I am not surprised.......I don't think Fiorina has ever been accused of being unambitious. ;~))

We know how that goes. Did you see Sanders the other
day, boldly predicting - in an interview with Maria B of
CNBC - the #1 spot for his baby over the coming decade...

Yes, I was listening to him..........he didn't bat an eyelash and Maria was loving it. Clearly, he believes his own press.............he also is a legend in his own mind. <g>

Her base pay itself is pretty good; and consider the glory of bypassing IBM - a feat not accomplished in nearly a half century of carefully planned mergers & acquisitions...

I definitely think its become an issue of ego for her......and that's why I think she will make it work. Although on Friday, Calpers announced that it was against the merger because it feels HWP is a paying a premium for CPQ. That decision could sway other investors. So its not a done deal by any means.
