Self driving is just getting started. It's about as impractical as robotic assembly lines were 40 years ago.

Right now it makes sense for fixed routes that don't traverse major cities and are mostly freeway.

But they'll get it ironed out. Truck drivers learning now don't see the future is going away for most of them, maybe why you're so hostile. I suspect there will still be room for specialized drivers for a few decades, exotic car transporters, dangerous cargo transporters.

But the rest are toast.
