This is not a gold article but can you figure out how gold plays into it?

That's easy. Lower dollar, therefore inflation, therefore buy gold.

But I say why buy an asset that might indirectly benefit from a declining dollar when you can buy assets that will directly benefit? I'm talking, of course, about assets denominated in the currencies against which the dollar is expected to decline, like Euro or Yen denominated government bonds.
