Sunw and ge capital Sun Micro To Announce Financing Venture With GE Capital SAN FRANCISCO (Dow Jones)--Sun Microsystems Inc. (SUNW) plans to announce Tuesday that it will join with GE Capital Corp. to create a new unit that will offer financing and leasing terms to purchasers of Sun's powerful server computers, workstations and related software. The new unit, formally known as Sun Microsystems Finance, will make possible more extensive financing for Sun customers. Sun officials said the new unit will provide customers with the most competitive financing options available. The new unit will be operationally effective as of Tuesday. The financing unit will be jointly managed by both Sun and GE Capital. A six-member board, consisting of three members from Sun and three from GE Capital, will oversee operations.
