the struggle to make a connection....

for about three weeks now, maybe longer, i have been trying, unsuccessfully, to set up a third internet connection on win2000pro. i have three isp's all working fine on win98se, and i desire the same connectivity here on w2k.

off and on i have been struggling to get this third connection to work, and it just has not been cooperating. i have been deep, deep into the configuration settings, looking at auto-detect this and never dial that. i have had access denied for a variety of reasons, each one about as useless to me as the previous one. i have booted back and forth from one operating system to another to compare settings and to see where i may have to tweak things.

after a few hours of fooling, i get tired and decide to move on, knowing i'll be back. today i picked up on the whole program again and looked at things with about a six day period of no attempts. and i found the problem....

i was one number off on the phone number. can you believe that? the phone number!! lol!!

and some people might wonder why i spend so much time on the computer learning thread! i'm hoping something will rub off!

:)
