Saturn,

This has been the most successful terrorist act ever, from the terrorist's perspective. With one event, they have created enough terror to shut down the worlds most active economy and markets. We have let them achieve their objective.

After 10 years without a hijacking, we have one event, that took at least a year to plan and execute. By beefing up existing security, we could have had the planes in the air at noon yesterday, with less risk than there was before the event.

It takes time to decide how we respond to a terrorism event, but we should react with more courage. By allowing one horrific event shut down the country we lose the battle to the terrorists. With their small resources, they depend on their victim's extrapolating the event to their entire system. The airlines, the markets, schools, malls, tourist attractions all closed. It makes the country look very fragile.
