Tim,
With regards to my "dumb" questions, i was always under the impression that there is never a "stupid" question.
Whether you chose to sell, or not, upon the opening of the market is your call. I was under the impression that most are long term investors. If you consider yourself a market timer, you would've been an excellent timer if you got out in March 2000 or a tad later. Evidently, you haven't and are panicking. So be it.
Pursuant to your suggestion that all buy guns, my question is why? Why does an American citizen who doesn't already have a gun need one now? Would a gun have helped those in the Twin Towers? You can't bring a gun on board an airplane? Have you considered how terrorists do their job? They don't fire upon people with weapons. Their job is accomplished by suisicide bombings of targets in public places which are not well defended.
If you wish to stay inside, so be it. Unfortunately, WebVan has gone bankrupt so you can't get any groceries. Perhaps you can call Domino's Pizza? Hold it, wait. You have to answer your door. You never know, a terrorist might deliver your pizza and include a suisicide bomb.
The suggestions your pose are quite irrational. Life as we know it, must go on. Living in fear is no way to live life.
Therefore, I suggest that you, yourself, implement your suggestions. Sell everything upon the opening of the market. Avoid public places and purchase a gun. By the way, how can you purchase a gun while avoiding a public place? Can you purchase guns over the internet? |
