If the MaxiPad cost 60% more than the Surface and the Surface has been out for 6 months (and was a second generation product), nobody but die-hard fanboys would buy it, either.

That would be a $499 to $798 comparison, in case you're slow on math.
I'm really not sure what you're driving at. That first sentence doesn't scan for me.
