Sig,
Hi!!
RE: Short term effect on Dell? Uncertain. Long term beneficial
as companies will learn the value of dealing with a reliable
supplier.

YEP...Fully agree ...it's the cheap PC's that get smoked here...DELL's relationships will carry weight...Perhaps a good example to show other corporations when DELL reps walk into a company and explain the B2B business?
CHINA huh Sig? :o) Love it when Michael mentions that country..."THE PHONE LINES OF THE LAST TEN YEARS WILL BE THE PC LINES OF THE NEXT 10 YEARS.." Exciting to hear him talk of the early growth: "OUR BUSINESS THIS YEAR IN CHINA IS GOING TO BE SEVERAL HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS IN REVENUE AND HAS ACHIEVED PROFITABILITY AHEAD OF SCHEDULE." "QUITE DECISIVELY THAT THE DIRECT MODEL WORKS EXTREMELY WELL IN CHINA." "ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL TO IT'S (DELL) FUTURE"...
...CHINA is an opportunity that could propel DELL past everyone's greatest imaginations...If we're thinking long term here Sig...Mort Topfer told everyone a year ago August (98) that "China will be our #2 market in five years..." So, this leaves four more...Michael telling us that "AHEAD OF SCHEDULE"...wooooah baby...

Gonna buy some options tomorrow...

Best, Kemble
