Are you actually saying that there is no overall increase in demand for PC's? No. I have no clue why you ask that question.

Or that a temporary disruption in supply of some PC components will result in decreased demand for PC's (because suppliers will raise prices)?

Absolutely.

Now Jock, just what does MD moves to expand his markets have to do with the discussion of PRICE, SUPPLY and DEMAND?

I assume you meant to write "does MD moving", rather than moves. My answer is that MD's action is an acknowledgement that the PC market is no longer going to see the tremendous growth in PC revenue that it once saw. As a result DELL needs to expand into other markets if it is to continue to grow. Because success is not assured, then there is the very real possibility that DELS will not sustain the regular and predictable growth that it has in the past.

What does exponential growth of PC revenues have to do with PRICE SUPLY and DEMAND?

Everything

(BTW Dell's growth had less to do with exponential growth of PC revenues than exponential growth of Dell's SHARE of those revenues).

True.

Then you have the chutzpa to actually spout the following lines:

The lines that followed are simply a basic explanation of supply and demand. And the point being made is that if the price of DELL's products increase because of component shortages of an increase in DRAM, then there will be less demand for those products. It's that simple. And as you can see from my response to Rudedog's goofy assertion that supply and demand do not apply in the PC industry, the laws of basic supply and demand surely do apply.

But if you actually believe that the Dell story is over... well everyone has their own investment style and opinions, don't they?

I don't think the DELL story is over, but it is clearly overvalued by a bunch of goofs who think that the laws of supply and demand don't apply to the industry in which DELL participates.
