I'm not sure if you missed the point or not. It's hard to tell from your response.

The point is that in many cutting edge industries, the copy method doesn't work. Whole industries are forced to limp along (pretty successfully) on fresh ideas. But you and Reg constantly extend your views of how the software business, or Microsoft, works to some sort of naive idea of how capitalism works, or should work.

(It's a little hard to pin this down: You guys can't make up your minds whether Microsoft is highly inventive and wins because of that or shouldn't be and therefore isn't.)

Even if I liked your ideas about the software business workings, I would have to call all your extensions of that into the general case unworkable and wrong.
