Rod
boy you are desperate
here is the reasons why k6 will beat the hell out intel chips(with so many names)
>>>>>1. Overclocked 200 Mhz samples sold at a loss to establish a market presence<<<<<

Amd does not need to overclock any of its chips. On another hand all of the high-freq. intel chips are overclocked. That why intel is going to ship them on intel boards only with huge heat-sinks. It was not a floor sample on dispaly but rather production version of k6. intel does not have a production version of pII yet

>>>>>2. Complete lack of built-in support for SMP means no servers.<<<<<

you are repeating yourself. SMP does not have to be build in

>>>>>3. Complete lack of a viable notebook solution.<<<<<

k6 is the only solution for notebooks right now. Power consuption of intel chips are way to high for desktops not even talking of laptopss

>>>>>4. Minuscule capacity, even at 166 Mhz<<<<<

well 30,000,000 chips a year is more than 1/3 of the market

>>>>>5. Pathetic floating point performance.<<<<<

from I can see k6 is going to be better than intel chips at that as well. Rod, show me one source that claims that amd have problems or might have problems with floating point. You imagination does not count as a source

>>>>>6. OEMs want software only modems<<<<<

what is that got to do with a chip? Are you on drugs?

>>>>>7. OEMs want volume in all models<<<<<

Someone mentioned that intel would have yields problems with their chips and not amd. amd is on its way to claim huge portion of the market

>>>>>8. OEMs want Pentium II in volume<<<<<

You are repeating youself. This is the 3rd time you have mentioned production capacity

>>>>>9. OEMs want notebooks, period<<<<<

2nd time laptops. Boy you are on drugs :-))

>>>>>10. OEMs want servers, period<<<<<

2nd time server. Wow :-))

>>>>>11. OEMs want Merced<<<<<

Ithought it goes "I want my M-TV". I never knew that M was for Merced
