Lets start from the begining... First the market has moved from revenues and marekt share to a share of the value proposition. THe PC value proposition is the customer. This is why Dell is doing so well and and CPQ is struggling. CPQ is sitll on the old model.

Next the margin issue(s) is not lower margin on home they can be equal, rather the margin dollar amount is so lower. In order to make the same margin PC for Home vs Desktop is 2 to 1.

Thus, maybe we should discuss the value proposition in the PC industry, and who are the real competitors, who adds value and what the real model will look like in 2001.
