Oncolytics Reports Positive Research By Co-Founder CALGARY -- Oncolytics Biotech Inc.'s (T.ONC) co-founder and collaborator, Patrick Lee, has shown the potential use of a genetically engineered form of Herpes Simplex Virus in killing certain cancer cells. In a news release, the company said the research study is being published in the August edition of Nature Cell Biology. Oncolytics said "we believe that this supplemental research provides further evidence that the method in which the reovirus attacks and kills cancer cells, is a valid approach to developing a potential cancer treatment." Oncolytics is a biotechnology company whose focus is the development of the mammalian reovirus based product known as REOLYSIN as a potential cancer therapeutic.
