The process of tearing apart every little portion of someones life in order to elect them keeps many highly qualified candidates from even considering the job.

True. Consider Gloop, for example. Undoubtedly his failure thus far to run for higher office can be directly attributed to: (1) his rap sheet; and (2) fear of damning testimonials from the Madison Police Department, old girlfriends with short tenure (usually one night or one hour or in some cases thirty seconds), and fellow members of his recreational chemistry study group from his college days.

Then there is the matter of his past advocacy of nuclear retaliation against certain groups and his tendency to refer to terrorists and the like as "stains" that need to be removed (thus denying their basic humanity and potentially angering them along with the French).

And when it gets to religion he'd really be in trouble, as he is clearly a leading member in a worshipping cult which has taken as its "God" someone who wears a number 4 on a football jersey. That may carry Wisconsin, a key battleground state, but how will it play in the Bible Belt?

In fact I think someone needs to be almost mentally ill to want the job with the gauntlet you need to navigate in order to be elected especially if your a Republican

On the other hand ..... <vbg>
